When they started out, they couldn’t even get proper production quality because no competent editors, sound designers, etc wanted to work for them, which led to large compilations of their failure to operate a news show:Īfter a couple of weeks, their most well known (and lead) presenter, Andrew Neil, left the program indefinitely, saying it didn’t turn out how he had expected when he helped create it. Please, for the love of god, treat their content with the same respect you would Fox. GBN (GB News) was a startup in the last year attempting to be a “British Fox News,” basically an outlet for lies, bullshit, or general right wing fear-stoking stories. Reality is the “fashionable” ones which are all fake gems and stylised into jewellery annoy me to no-end.ī. Was about to say I’ve never seen anyone wearing poppy underwear, then realised how dumb that would be. It’s one of those cases where being the absolute best at one or two things (speed, range for the V-280, speed, stealth for the YF-23) is not going to carry the favour of the client, who desires greater flexibility and an easier time integrating new technologies into existing force structure and doctrine.Ī.

I would also bet it proves a more surviveable design to combat damage. The SB-1 is simultaneously able to be nimble at treetop height, and fly faster than any conventional helicopter when needed, as well as offering superior lift capability for underslung loads or armour plate. It has one party trick and that’s straight line speed at medium altitudes, like a plane, in which it’s a sitting duck for missiles. It’s still much faster than a conventional helicopter, if not as fast as the V-280, but speed is not what saves helicopters in peer conflicts, but agility at near zero altitude, the ability to weave around obstacles and duck behind hills, trees, etc. The Sikorsky design fits the shoes of the Blackhawk much better.

It’s significantly faster than the SB-1 Defiant, and exceeded the performance specification on speed rather than promising to make it only when it receives the future production engine… but I think the Army will pick the SB-1, and it’s the right choice for them, at least in a few years. It’s done hundreds of hours of testing, so much as to retire the prototype. Right now, it seems the V-280 is winning at everything. I swear this program is going to be a YF-22/ YF-23 case all over again.
